Become A COSA Representative:

When an opening is available, consider nominating someone or yourself to be a representative of 凤凰体育APP Council on Staff Affairs. Reference the current Bylaws; Section V for Election cycle details.

What is COSA?

COSA is a recommending body to the university's President as part of our shared governance model at 凤凰体育APP. The Council recommends improvements of policies and procedures related to the general welfare of all concerned within the University community. COSA is comprised of classified-staff employees, representing every division, and two “at large” members. We are focused on issues of importance to classified staff members and the entire university community.

COSA Requirements

COSA meets every month throughout the year (including summer), generally on the third Tuesday of the month. All representatives are also expected to serve on a minimum of two committees during their time on COSA. These can be chosen from COSA, Faculty Senate and University-wide committees. Some committees are very active and some are less so. Terms of representatives are for four years and representatives can run for re-election for a second four year term before needing to step off for a minimum of one year.

COSA Opportunities and Events

COSA provides many services to 凤凰体育APP including the Blazer Books award for TAP participants, assisting HR in the Employee of the Semester awards, assisting the President’s Office in selecting the Presidential Excellence award winners, conducting several fundraisers annually (including Johnson’s BBQ, Balloon fundraiser), ordering and laying bricks for recent retirees and much more.
